Eden Owen-Jones

Creative Food Assistant

Eden is Powerhouse’s sustainable food star. Before joining us, she worked as a Cooker Trainer for Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food and as a Chef for the Real Junk Food Project, where she turned surplus food into weekly menus – but her passion goes way back in time. Eden got into food waste and sustainability whilst studying Political Science. From there, she worked on her Instagram and gained knowledge surrounding wild British ingredients and seasonality.

Her greatest achievement has definitely been watching her students gain confidence in the kitchen, and hearing about how its improved their lives, and of those they love.

Eden joined Powerhouse in August 2022 (we don’t quite know how we managed without her up until then).

“I really loved way the company came across on paper, and when I saw how earnestly that was reflected in practice, I knew it was the place for me. I know they care a lot about sustainability and looking after our planet is incredibly important to me, I guess I felt like we shared the same values. Everyone is really encouraging and this brings out the best of me. I feel like even in such a short space of time I’ve learnt to trust my instincts more.” – Eden.

She spends most of her time in the breakout, cooking up amazing dishes for our clients and team, using surplus products from our shoots and the fresh produce we have growing in the garden.
